Start spreading the news....(GB)

Well, we've arrived in New York! Just a brief update for you as as I need some sleep because there's a lot of exploring to do in the morning. It's 11:50pm here (4:50am in the UK) and Lauren is already out like a light!

A few highlights from today:

Lovely meal at Heathrow airport with Stuart, Carole, Di, Dad and Roz.

Terminal 3 is amazing! Really upmarket and highly advanced.

Spurs won 2-1!!

Our plane was brand new. We had a row of 4 seats each so, after watching a movie (choice of HUNDREDS) we could lay down and get some rest. Time flew by. There was also Wi-Fi on the plane, if you were prepared to pay (we're poor backpackers so didn't bother)!

We chose to ride the Subway to Times Square (where we're staying) as it was loads cheaper than a cab and quite an experience. There was a NYC homeboy blasting out his hip hop on the train. Really made my day as it seemed so "New York"! In the 1980s he would've had a huge ghetto blaster on his shoulder. However, we're in 2014 and he was holding...... An iPad!! ☺

Our hotel is in Times Square so very central to everything. We're on the 45th (out of 46) floor with great views. So high that my ears popped on the way up in the elevator!

We're safe, well and excited.

3 days here then off to Rio!

Happy times.

  5. Love the comment about the 'homeboy'! Well, was he wearing hi-tops and skintight denim? Please tell me there was at least some neon involved!

  11. I got an email to say you had made a new blog post - 'Stop spreading the news, we left (New York) today :-(' but when I click on the link it says 'Sorry, the page you were looking for in this blog does not exist.' I tried navigating around it by going to your bog home page but the last post is the one where you had just landed in New York. Hope everything is well apart from that.
