Friday morning started with a beautiful Brazilian breakfast served by our host Gueda and his Cook.
Gueda speaks brilliant English and is so helpful with advice on where to go, where to avoid and even did a load of laundry for us free of charge!
First stop was Riosul mall to buy suncream and then straight on to Sugar Loaf Mountain, one of the most famous sights in Rio.
The cable car ride was fantastic and before anyone makes any "lazy git" comments, it's the only way up there!!
The views from the top were simply stunning. Here's a few pics we took.

After Sugar Loaf the plan was to have a quick bite to eat then head up to see 'Christ The Redeemer' statue close up. (You can see it in the distance on our Sugar Loaf pictures).
However, after walking in 35 degree heat up and down Copacabana beach (cue song...) we couldn't find the ticket office until it was too late and it had just closed! That trip will have to wait until Monday as apparently weekends are not worth going as they're just too busy.
So, we had a few drinks on Copacabana beach and were completely astounded by the blatant approaches of a dozen or more 'ladies of the night' (at 5pm) on old, overweight and inebriated men who seemed powerless to their seduction. Very sad.
From there we went to sample the Rio nightlife in Lapa for a brief time (very lively!) and headed back to our guesthouse.

Looks like a holiday of a lifetime already. Enjoying the updates. Keep'em coming x Angela
