Waking up Friday morning, we could hardly believe that the best day of our lives was 5 years ago!
As we're having such an amazing time it seemed marginally self indulgent to arrange something 'special' for our anniversary but our hotel had suggested a brilliant option at a local spa and, as we'd clearly had such a tough time lately (lol!) we went for it!
We took a taxi to the Entre Cielos spa and our driver helped himself to a tip out of our change and then gave us his card saying to call him when we wanted picking up. His name was Jesus and it was then that Lauren, on our fifth wedding anniversary, finally became a Brocklebank by exclaiming, "Well, I guess it's true what they say, 'Jesus Saves'"
It seemed this Jesus was mainly interested in saving OUR MONEY however!
Comedy genius. I was a proud husband!
The spa was incredible. From full body exfoliation to massages and covering ourselves in mud, we came away completely relaxed and headed to the nearby hotel where our lunch was included.
I was expecting some kind of cheap buffet or maybe a burger but we were presented with a delectable 3 course lunch and 2 free glasses of Champagne when the waiter found out it was our anniversary! I have a feeling it may be our anniversary a few more times on this trip!
In Argentina we have seen hundreds of really old cars bring driven around daily and loads of old Citroen 2CVs which I've found quite funny. For reasons explained to us later, this hotel had 4 pristine 2CVs around the grounds and one was parked right by our table!
As we walked back to get a taxi (we decided to go our own way and not involve Jesus in our return journey), we saw our first 'Christmas Tree' so decided to have a festive photo taken.... In 37 degrees!!
That night we decided to have a night off steak.
I asked the hotel for an iron and ironing board to sort my creased shirt out and this arrived!. My shoe is in the picture to give you a sense of perspective!
We headed out to a beautiful seafood restaurant called 'Praga' where we had some prawns and beautifully cooked fish.
It was an inside/outside restaurant where we were sat inside 4 walls but with no roof. When we looked up, there were the stars. It was so lovely and a beautiful end to a great day.

Happy anniversary glad you had a great day xxx
